Precision Dial Gauge Attenuators
These precision calibrated variable waveguide attenuators provide
a highly accurate, stable means of adjusting or measuring attenuation in a waveguide system. They are widely used
in laboratory application providing accurate measurements with long life dependability.
A bilaterally matched parallel type attenuator element is positioned within the waveguide section by means
of an ultra-precise mechanism which is absolutely free of backlash or play. Precision dial gauges are utilized to
indicate the exact relative position of the attenuating element in the waveguide section. Special attention has
been given in the design of the instruments to provide shielding against leakage.
A single frequency calibration at 5 dB points throughout the attenuation range of the instrument is
provided at the frequency specified in the chart. A calibration curve showing dial reading versus attenuation is
supplied with each instrument. Additional calibrations may be obtained on special order. Alternate flanges
and materials are available. See flange section. Finish is instrument gray enamel.
