Direct Reading Attenuators
These variable attenuators are direct reading precision calibrated
units which provide a range of essentially 0 to 40.0 dB with a maximum VSWR of 1.15 over the frequency range of the
instrument. These models find wide use for system applications and are adaptable for through-the-panel
installations.
A smooth operating dial and drive mechanism provides accurate control of attenuation free from any backlash
or play. The engraved dial is marked directly in 1 dB values from 0 to 40.0 dB. Calibration is made at a
single frequency in accordance with the table.
The instruments are designed, electrically and mechanically, for precise operation over wide ranges of
temperature and humidity. The maximum attenuation range is achieved in less than one counterclockwise rotation of
the drive shaft. Calibration accuracy and mechanical dimensions are shown in the tables. Alternate flanges
and materials are available. See flange section. Finish is instrument gray enamel.
